Yin -Deeply Relaxing Slow Deep Stretch:
Sunday at 6:00pm December 11, 201 until March 25, 2012
In this "yin" style yoga class, a shanti-bhav or "peaceful mood" will support us in slow, passive holds (between 2 and 10 minutes) of simple yoga poses to deeply stretch the body and facilitate a true letting go into a profound state of grounding, relaxation, insight and stillness. This class is open to all and is a wonderful medicine to counter the anxiety that comes with the busy-ness of fast paced modern day life...

Ashley is in deep gratitude to all of her teachers, especially Maharaji Neem Karoli Baba, Mataji, Sarah Wayson, Govindas, Saul David Raye, Aaron Reed, and her parents. She began dancing when she was 3 years old and has been studying yoga since she was 15. Over the past decade, Ashley has studied many aspects of the 8 limbs of yoga described by Patanjali as well as other forms of eastern and western philosophies. It is Bhakti yoga, the yoga of the heart, which has spoken to her the loudest.  Living at the Santosh Puri Ashram in Haridwar was Ashley’s deepest personal experience to date. That experience created the foundation of her personal practice. “I feel being a student, and always being aware that I am indeed a student, even when I teach allows for oneness and union that embodies yoga and takes the experience way beyond a mat.” -Ashley Wynn. Her teaching philosophy is also based on Krishnamacharya's fundamental principle that yoga must always be adapted to an individual's changing needs in order to derive the maximum therapeutic benefits. 

She began with her first teacher training in 2003 and has never stopped studying. She has since completed teacher trainings with Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea, and most recently was part of Govindas’ first Bhakti Yoga Teacher Training at her home studio, Bhakti Yoga Shala. She feels deep gratitude to Govindas and Radha for their blessing to teach and practice yoga at the most sacred space in Santa Monica!

 While Ashley’s class format is always different, you can expect that her classes will include elements of bhakti & hatha vinyasa, dance, meditation, pranayama, self-love, community-building exercises like kirtan and devotion, as well as gratitude.  Her commitment self-love and her own truth can be felt in each class she teaches.
