"Kids’ Yoga- Meditative Play"
Luna Bio: "I am grateful to lead such a vibrant life: My cousin brought me to my first yoga class at age 18, on my way to freshmen year of college at Pepperdine University. The next year, I studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I began practicing yoga in Spanish. My junior year, I was deeply influenced by some of the teachers at Power Yoga West. This is when my yoga practice became more regular and I found it was vitally important not only to my physical and mental wellbeing, but my spirituality as well. My heart especially felt at home in the bhakti (devotion) that was shared in Govindas and Radha’s classes where I was first exposed to kirtan. Soon I began taking people to yoga classes, leading my roommates in postures on our sunny deck, and making yoga an integral part of my life. After graduating college, I traveled to Ghana, Africa where I taught Literature to 6th graders and yoga to a community that had never heard of it. Returning to the US, I spent much time immersed in the Seattle music scene, and developing my personal yoga practice. I realized a desire to explore seated meditation and went on a 10-day Vipassana course. In many ways, this deepened my yoga and freed me from self-limiting beliefs. Following my passion, I came back to LA to participate in Govindas’ first teacher training at Bhakti Yoga Shala. It has become clear that I am passionate about speaking and living my Truth and empowering others to do so. I now see private clients, lead community classes in Venice, and teach “Kids’ Yoga- Meditative Play” at Bhakti Yoga Shala"
Class Description: Kids’ Yoga- Meditative Play
In this beautiful class, we practice conscious breathing to connect with the present moment and we use yoga postures, sensory games, music, and creative free movement to experience our bodies. This gives children the opportunity to use their imagination, to create, and to explore the Self in a comfortable group setting. I am excited to learn all that the young ones have to share as this class evolves and expands. I invite you to come along as we experience in gratitude!
