My yoga journey began almost 18 years ago in a level 1 class at
Bryan Kest’s power yoga. What had I gotten myself in to?
But I kept coming back. I started to see the correlation between
being able to hold a difficult pose without freaking out and being
able to stay in a challenging life situation and be okay. And I
learned to breathe!
Through Bryan I met Gurmukh and studied kundalini at Golden
Bridge, branching out further to different studios and taking
different styles of yoga. I have studied meditation with teachers
such as Noah Levine and spent many a day in mindfulness at Deer
Park Monastery. I have studied yoga, pranayam and meditation in
Rishikesh India. And, most recently, under the blessed guidance
of Govindas, graduated from the teacher training here at Bhakti
Yoga Shala.
Bhakti turned my yoga practice into a path. A joyful, blissed out
path of service, recognizing the Divine in every living being.
Bhakti Yoga Shala gives me a home where I can release my (as my
son says) “inner tree hugging hippy”.
I offer my gratitude to Govindas and Radha and am so honored to be
among the beautiful teachers here. I believe every being, every
experience in your life, can be a teacher. I am grateful for all
of my teachers, from the people who push my buttons to the friends
who support and guide me, to all of my brothers and sisters in
nature. See? Tree Hugger.
I invite you to come to class and join me in an hour and a half of
celebrating Divine perfect You. “God makes no mistakes” (The
philosopher GaGa).
“You are soul and you are love, not a sprite or and angel or a
human being! You’re a Godman-womanGod-manGod-Godwoman!
No more questions now as to what it is we’re doing here”
