"CHILLED OUT FLOW"
Sita was first introduced to yoga by a friend sophmore
year of high school, and began practicing sporadically. While pursuing her BFA in
dance at the University of California Santa Barbara, Sita found
yoga as a great cross training practice, and started working trade at
a local yoga studio. Once she graduated from UCSB with her BFA, she
moved to Los Angeles to dance in a modern dance company. While
dancing in the company, Sita found herself practicing yoga at least
once a day if not twice, and began to develop a deep and intense love
for the practice. She landed a desk job at Maha Yoga, in Brentwood,
where she was blessed to study with Steve Ross and William Duprey. At
Maha, Sita was introduced to Kirtan, and experienced something she
had never felt before. Her curiosity and hunger for more Kirtan
finally led her to Govindas and Radha, where she immediately fell in
love with Bhakti Yoga. Sita realized that yoga was innate in her
own being and decided to train to become a teacher at the Konalani
yoga ashram in Hawaii. At the ashram she earned her 500 hour
certificate and registered with the yoga alliance, held 3 classes a
week, and was also blessed to play guitar for their sangha. Life in
Hawaii was so amazing, however Sidnie began to miss the yoga
community in Santa Monica, and deciced to come back to Los Angeles.
Sita was welcomed home with open arms, and is truly grateful and
honored to be teaching at Govindas and Radha's Bhakti Yoga Shala and
singing with them in their Kirtan band.
