"Level 1/2 "
Born and raised in Argentina, Yessy has always been a spiritual seeker. Since she was little she constantly looked for a way to connect with the Spirit, through dancing, painting, writing, reading, music, and outdoor sports. In 2002 she moved to the United States where her journey into Yoga commenced with Hatha classes to alleviate a chronic back pain. She never imagined that they would become the turning point in her life … To Yessy’s surprise, not only did her back heal, she also experienced feelings of well-being she had never known before…
Benefiting greatly from the practice, Yessy fell deeply in love with Yoga and in 2006, she completed her first 200 hour of intensive Yoga Teacher Training at The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Grass Valley, California. This training affected her profoundly, providing her with a deeper level of understanding and experience of the whole Yoga Philosophy, including Karma, Bhakti, Raja, Hatha and Jnana Yoga. Shortly thereafter, she began teaching at Sivananda Yoga Center in Marina del Rey and also offered private classes. In the same year, she took an intensive 100-hour course in Meditation Training at Sivananda Ashram also.
In 2007 she completed the 200-hour Yoga teachers course with Max Strom and Sherry Brouman at Exhale for Sacred Movement in Venice, CA. A year later she started to study with Matthew Cohen and became his assistant at Exhale in Venice and in 2010 she took Matthew’s “Yoga and Healing Arts” training at his school in Santa Monica. Most recently she completed the Yoga Therapy Rx level I certification program at Loyola Marymount University with Larry Payne Ph.D.
Yessy believes there are so many amazing benefits from practicing Yoga, that if anyone shows up, does the best they can, and moves in a mindful manner the entire practice become transformational ... To Yessy, yoga is a way of life, it heals, and causes the practitioner to be present and aware. For her, Yoga is about being willing to open one’s heart and body to breath the love of life: “prana” in deeper and to breath out and surrender in order to let it go…
Her classes focus on breathing, healthy body alignment, building mental, emotional and physical balance while developing strength and flexibility. She encourages the student to practice with a personal Intention that honors their body-mind-spirit.
She is sincerely grateful to all the teachers, family, friends and students that teach, support and inspire her daily in the healing art of sharing the experience of yoga …
