Kirtan is an ancient bhakti yoga practice using sacred song and the fuel of our emotions as an expression of devotion and heart-felt prayer. The word kirtan literally translates into “chanting the names of the divine to praise the infinite source, the One who orchestrates all.”
There is quote we love from the great yoga master Swami Sivananda. He says, “Life without kirtan is like a garden without flowers." We couldn’t agree more! Kirtan is a jewel of a spiritual practice because of it joyful and ecstatic nature. Our guru Neem Karoli Baba said “The best form of God to worship is every form.” We take that to mean, “see God in everyone, see love in everything.”

ABOUT
Govindas and Radha are California-based bhakti yogis, kirtan singers, and as their spiritual names suggest - "servants of the divine". They are the founders and directors of Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, California - an innovative donation-based yoga studio dedicated to the practices of bhakti yoga and kirtan.
They are a husband and wife team with great love and devotion for life itself, their guru, eachother, and the traditional yogic practices of India.
This is the essence which is reflected and transmitted through their music. Govindas and Radha lead evenings of kirtan, bhakti yoga workshops, and transformative retreats through out the world.
